tumblr.

i got really tired lately of collecting stuff that inspires me on my laptop, since my desktop became a mess of sparkling childhood memories and unicorns with flowers in their hair.
so i joined tumblr to collect my inspiration.
go ahead and follow, lovely people!

if you have any suggestions for inspiring tumblr accounts, please let me know. i am really new to this thing.

like it´s golden.

i love how spring turns berlin upside down and makes everything he touches golden. i am living for those days spent in the grass, bathing in cherry blossoms, going to concerts alone and dancing my mind away, fiddling flowercrowns in each others hair and roaming around streets with a vivd full moon watching us.
i love a full moon.

i remember this one special time i was wandering around parramatta park in sydney with music in my ears and a heart thirsting of curiosity. the evening was welcoming me with skies in all shades pink and purple and a moon so HUGE i literally couldn´t take my eyes of him. i made my way through the park tripping, smelling the scent of those trees that smell like lemons and loving every minute of it. it´s the little things. it always has been! i love the little things. i enjoy them so much sometimes i can´t contain it and can not help it at all.

also i love how spring makes me deeply miss the place i grew up.
lying on the floor of my room filled with light and feeling the sun like velvet on my skin, the carelessness of being a child, lying on the street at night with my friends.
a long time i was afraid of growing up. maybe i kind of still am. there are so much childlike thoughts and feelings in my heart still and i was always afraid that one day i would have to let them go. like when you where little and had a balloon or a feather and the wind would take it with him and you would know you will never have that again.
and no matter which substitute you would get it will never be quite the same. but one day i decided that you can grow up and keep your childlike heart. sometimes it is a challenge but who doesn´t love a good challenge?

something about road trips..

my eyes are longingly looking at photos of my roadtrip adventures these days. there is something about road trips that teaches you to feel fully alive and in the moment. packing not more than a hat, a tank, a bikini, my john lennon sunglasses and a high waisted levis shorts and just go.

stopping wherever beauty makes you stop, sleeping in the car or a cheap motel. enjoying the way the salty air makes you hair look and your skin feel. barfooted nights at the beach. the feeling of fresh fruit and coffee right by the ocean after a long night in the car. meeting strangers. living in the moment and not being chased by thoughts of leaving. letting go of i need and want and must. 70s music and windows down. fresh guacamole from the farmers market in the middle of nowhere. exploring. really just living and feeling like an adventurer.

after the storm.

i feel like i am twirled up into the air by mighty winds and free falling. and though it is not always easy not being afraid of a free fall, i have the feeling it will lead me somewhere. somewhere good.
those last weeks i sat on trains leading me to places i did not really want to be. i waited in long halls and i was scared. but besides all of that i was blessed by people caring about me.
much more than i think i would ever deserve.
those next months will be hard work. there are so much ideas in my head. they sometimes overwhelm me and get me stuck somewhere. i find it hard getting all the creativity out of my head just because it is so much. but i promised this to myself and this is what i will do.
and after the storm i´ll look up.

lalalala take me home.

not so long ago i moved to a new city. our flat is almost finished, but there are still some projects we are working on (like a commode made out of suitcases), spaces and walls that need to be filled with life or things i still want to change. i like to change things up a lot because i constantly have new ideas.

these are some home inspirations that i have collected.
i like to mix and match and combine. to kind of break into one style and go on with a completely different one. i do not like it too pretty, clean or straight lines. well.. i like pretty. but i like to create a mess with the pretty.

naked brick walls, oriental carpets, maps, pretty torn off wallpaper, tulle, clustered spaces, dark wood, flourishes, beautiful flowers in run-down or vintage vessels, interior items that have a past and creating your own ideas ( we built our personal wardrobe by putting copper pipes up on the wall). that is what it is all about for me. also i like to put things where you would not expect them to be.
since i recently received my new canon 6d baby i will put up some pictures of our flat in some time.

and hopefully i will once live in a sunny loft on a rooftop. with huge factory windows, a huge terrace, totally run-down, pipes all over the place and of course brick walls and not to forget stucco decoration! i would arrange it so freaking awesome and you all would be invited.
so...anybody there who wants to buy me a loft?

spring won´t you come already?

i am eagerly waiting for spring to come and take me away.
the sounds of yet lonely birds arriving to accompany us makes me wide eyed.

spring is coming and it´s bringing along a sweet riot.
a riot in my soul.

things will change for the better and there will be a lioness rising with a heart that can´t be tamed just like her long wavy hair.

i can feel it.i know it.
and when the spring air will fill my lungs i will dance under street lights and white winter lies will be gone.

the ever wandering heart.

when there is wanderlust in my blood, a nostalgia reminding me of recent travels that feels so strong that i can smell every scent and breath the salty fresh sea, feel what i felt then...i can only remind myself that now i am supposed to be where i am right now. there is this season and there will be others. i will travel again. and with traveling i mean months or even years. gypsy life will ever have my wandering heart.
in the meantime i can still look at pictures or even better, remember the things that are not on the pictures. the moments soaked into my skin and bones. eyes and mind.

personal style.

on our trip last year i got inspired a lot by the personal style of people in williamsburg.
a mix of cool rock chic, undoneness, bohemian/hippie and girly collar dresses.
this mixed up with the laid back berlin street style is exactly what i strive for.
i created some outfits on polyvore that i would like to wear this spring.

the power of fragile.

i like to watch people.
on the street or on pictures.
i like to make up stories in my mind about who that person could be, what stories lie behind absent eyes, messy hair and timid smiles.

and when i discover a bit of it, the power of fragility makes me marvel. it reminds me why i love people.
these moments when souls gleam like the sun that gleams through clouded skies for just two seconds on days drawn in grey.
these moments when people are not in their shell or even cage. flawed and full of character and marks.

i love tooth gaps, huge smiles, bed heads, chapped nail polish, paleness, really weird laughter, clumsiness, people that laugh about their own jokes, awkward dancers, sleepy faces and the funny socks i can see people wearing when they sit down on the train, tired from a long workday.

i think we have been told a lie for years and years. as we grew up people told or showed us that we all needed to be perfect in order to be powerful.
but as i thought about it carefully i found that it did not coincide with the experiences i had and lessons i learned.

when there are flaws there is an unaffectedness.
when there are wise words, that we all love, there are people that took a fall and spoke those wise words out of experience.
the wisest men have a beautiful fragility and authenticity.
and for me this is so powerful.
more powerful than everything perfect, combined in one person.
when there is something fragile in your eyes and something broken in your bones, you can turn it into beautiful things.
you can create beauty, you can love, you can ease someones burden.

and as we travel this life the imperfect becomes the perfect, the undesirable becomes desirable, guilt becomes forgiveness and pain becomes love.

it happens all as we travel.
it happens all as we evolve.
it happens all as we never stop learning to see and not just look.

the perks of being different.

those recent nights this girl has been wide awake accompanied by insomnia. i must say i don't welcome it's company but it gives me time and space to think and create.
i created my very first song in my head in a night of insomnia, wrote it down and played it the next day, so insomnia isn't all bad for me.

one of the things i was thinking was about 'being different'.
i grew up in a small town in a society where everybody is the same. they do the same stuff, wear the same clothes, have the same opinions, take the same classes at university...
i always felt there was a fear of speaking up. speaking your mind. questioning things. being yourself.
because if you do that, people will shut you out.
nobody wants to be an outsider, right?
but for some reason i don't understand why most people give up who they are, in order to fit in. in order to be 'loved' (heads up: if people don´t love you for nothing but yourself they won't love you for someone who you pretend to be).

but here we are.
we are the people that are so different that they can't help but being it. can't help but wanting to be different!
i couldn't betray who i am to fit in where i clearly didn't belong.
when i was a child, i was desperate over what was wrong with me.
why i was so different than them, why i didn't even want to be like them.
i felt wrong, oh so wrong.

but as i grew up a little, thought about things, questioned things i got to know the perks of being different.

we are the rarity.
we are the wild ones.
we are the ones with strong hearts and minds.
we must embrace it!

i found that there is a wisdom i developed, i was only able to receive by questioning and doing things other people thought where 'not normal', 'reckless', 'careless', 'not-like-a-grown-up-should-act'.
i found there is a wisdom you only receive by experience.
and with this i am not saying i have aaall the wisdom.
no, i have worked for the small part of the whole i have gained yet.yet yet yet.

i found that there is poise and self-confidence building up in me more and more by being me.

i found that there is more room for new.
to create new things. to have new ideas. to have new challenges.

i found that one day i will be irreplaceable, because i am different.

i found that i can write how i do, that i can sing how i do, that i can think how i do.
i can dance how i do, even in a subway station or on the sidewalk. i can live freely.
i can be amazed by the smallest things on earth and i can be the child i am in my heart.
i can travel the whole wide world and i can meet new people without judging them or laughing at them, because they are different than i am, want them to or expect them to be.
i can tell everyone about my crazy dreams, no matter if daydream or night.
i can laugh about the most stupid stuff and be the really crazy one i am.
i can wear heels as high as i want them to be.
i can experience.
i can make stupid jokes and be wild.
i can sometimes be careless and reckless.
i can cry during beautiful sunrises at bondi beach or out of wanderlust.
i can ramble over and over because i am so motivated, impressed or full of love.
i can thrill people when i am keen.
i can sometimes wander.
i can speak my mind. i can dream.
i can be me.

don't give up yourself in order to fit in.
fitting in is overrated.

analog honeymoon. part three.

l.a. made me wish for the moon.
l.a. made me love to live out of the suitcase.
it made my mind wander to the endless places i yet have to see, people i have to meet, stories i have to hear, beauty i have to capture.
the unknown i have to adventure, the wonders i have to believe.

wherever i go i find myself wanting more, thinking about the next place i will strike my roots into, just to leave again.
sometimes i want to go away. live somewhere else.
but then my mind turns upside down, loving every place and wanting to live there.

it makes me think if i really could live anywhere. any place.
maybe it is so. right now i believe it is.
maybe i can settle one day. but until then i think wherever i live i will be drawn somewhere else.
the travel bug has a nest in my heart and i will embrace that.

as we flew over hawai'i i saw the most turquoise water i had ever seen. hawai'i is so beautiful. inside and out.

i wouldn't suggest you go to waikiki beach if you like to travel as i do but if you like to have a relaxing holiday in a fancy hotel it's perfect. i think it would be great to work there for some time though.

if you are there and want to see some non-touristy spots, go to sandy beach, makapu'u beach or lanikai beach. sandy beach is experienced surfers territory only. at least the day we were there. the shorebreak was pretty badass. makapu'u beach has beautiful tide pools in which you can swim. you have to climb a little. lanikai beach leaves your eyes blinking because it is oh so white, turquoise and everything beautiful.

one day one hawaiian family took us out on their boat. we danced, laughed, swam with dolphines and dived down into the beautiful sea.
hawaiians are beautiful people.
they have a deep bond with nature. they respect and care about their surroundings. they got the importance. it seems it is planted in their hearts.
the families dad told me to only call the animals in their hawaiian names. the hawaiian language has deeper meanings and it's planted in the hearts of the hawaiian creatures.
i loved the thought and find that their language sounds magical.
their dances tell stories and leave you starring, wondering what the story could be. they are passioned and at the same time relaxed. i fell in love. again.
